2010 – Get licensed and Off
to the races !!!
2010 was the year of my
resurgence into competitive racing!
I started the year off
attending some NASA HPDE/TT track events: Beaver Run in June, then Mid Ohio in
July.
In August I attended a Mid
Ohio competition driving school for NASA and I acquired my NASA provisional
license. I raced that very same
weekend and came out with two clean races under my belt.
In September I traveled to
Chicago to race with NASA at Autobahn Country club where I found myself in
victory lane in the second race of the weekend(and just my 4th race
of the season). The fourth
consecutive race marked the transition of my competition license from
Provisional to Rookie status.
In October I concluded my
season with two races at Putnam Park in Indiana. There, I finished two clean races and was happy the season
was over as I was broke and tired.
The efforts made to be at the
track every month, and to have everything ready to go, took a tremendous amount
of time and money to accomplish.
Racing involves more then just showing up at the track and driving the
car; it requires countless hours invested before and after each race weekend to
ensure the car is ready and to avoid last minute surprises at the track. I’m very happy to say that I made it
thru my first season without incident.
